Return to School January 2021

From Monday 11th January 2021, all teaching and learning will be delivered online via our online learning platform. Our aim is to replicate the classroom  as much as possible in the programme that we deliver.

We expect your child to engage with the contingency learning programme being provided.

  • Pupils have been invited to their classrooms by their subject teachers. This will be done through their school email address. Students are encouraged to accept these invitations as soon as possible in order to join these classes.

  • Pupils who join using their personal email addresses will be removed.

  • Pupils who have forgotten their log in details are asked to phone the school.

  • A set of video tutorials for pupils can be found HERE

  • Pupils are expected to keep to their regular timetable and to log into their form class to register their attendance in the morning and afternoon session and then log into their lesson.

  • Work will be posted by subject teachers at three different times during the day:

    • 9:00am work will be posted for periods 1 & 2

    • 11:00am work will be posted for periods 3 & 4

    • 13:40pm   work will be posted for periods 5 & 6

  • This will provide students with the flexibility to work at their own pace within the structure of their normal period 1 - 6 timetable.

  • Your child’s subject teacher will be available during the lesson.

  • It is important to note that some feedback will be possible during the course of the lesson but other types of feedback will need to be given at a future time, as is very much the case in normal school based lessons.

  • We expect all work which is set to be completed by pupils within the deadline given.

  • We also ask parents/guardians to contact us if there are extenuating circumstances which prevents your child from completing the work set.

Please note that students following an alternative curriculum will receive further instructions with regards to their online learning provision.
